COVID-19 Pandemisi ile Mücadelede Tıbbi Sosyal Hizmetin Rolü

Abstract

COVID-19 ile mücadelede tıbbi sosyal hizmet uzmanları, sağlık alanındaki mesleki uygulamalarını içeren tıbbi sosyal hizmet uygulamaları ile ön saflarda çalışan sağlık ekibinin önemli bir üyesidir. COVID-19 pandemisinin başlangıcından itibaren tıbbi sosyal hizmet uzmanları; virüsün sağlık çalışanları, hastalar ve hasta yakınları üzerinde yarattığı fiziksel, ruhsal, ekonomik ve sosyal sorunları çözmede önemli roller
üstlenmiştir. Bununla birlikte daha önceki pandemilerde de olduğu gibi pandemi ile mücadele tıbbi sosyal hizmet uzmanlarının rollerini ele alan çalışmalar oldukça sınırlıdır. Buradan hareketle bu çalışmada, pandemi ile mücadelede tıbbi sosyal hizmet uzmanlarının üstlendikleri rolleri ortaya koymak amaçlanmıştır. Tıbbi sosyal hizmet uzmanlarının rolleri, hastane ortamında sunulan tıbbi sosyal hizmet uygulamaları
çerçevesinde ele alınmıştır. Bu çalışma, gelecekteki olası salgınlara hazırlıklı olmada tıbbi sosyal hizmetin öneminin anlaşılmasına ve yeniden düşünülmesine önemli katkı sağlamaktadır
