Akıllı destinasyon uygulamaları

Year 2021, Volume: 2 Issue: 2, 141 - 150, 01.12.2021

Abstract

Smart destination applications

Year 2021, Volume: 2 Issue: 2, 141 - 150, 01.12.2021

Abstract

The changes and developments that have occurred with globalization, the active and widespread use of technology have brought about change and renewal in all sectors. The tourism sector, which has been affected by these developments, has started to use smart technologies in order to meet the demands and needs of tourists, which have begun to differ over time. One of the areas where smart technologies are frequently used in the tourism sector is smart destinations, which are derived from the concept of smart city. It is seen that destination management organizations allocate time and resources to make destinations smart in order to provide a successful tourist experience, to create sustainable, innovative, state-of-the-art destinations and to increase the level of competition. In this sense, it is important to understand the concepts of smart city and smart destination and to reveal smart destination application examples. For this purpose, the concepts of smart city and smart destination were evaluated and smart destination applications were included in the study.
