Dr. Yumurtaci has Labor Economics and Industrial Relations BSc. degree from Sakarya University (2004), She worked Population Ageing in Europe during her MA studies at Marmara University between the years 2005-2007 and she gained her PhD from Istanbul University in 2017. Her dissertation subject covered demographic change in different countries. Now she focused on population, demography and development economics. She continues her postdoctoral studies in collaboration with colleagues at different institutions.
