Aim & Scope

The Journal of Critical Communication Studies aims to publish original critical works in the field of communication.

The Journal of Critical Communication Studies focuses on critical approaches prefarably, especially the Frankfurt School, British Cultural Studies, Structural Approaches, Phenomenological Approaches and Economic-Political Approaches.

Public relations, marketing, advertising, digital communication, social media, digital game studies, television, cinema, design, gender studies, communication sciences and studies in all intersecting fields are reviewed and published by our journal.

Papers with the following features can be published in the journal:
Theoretical Papers: Comprehensive studies on a particular subject, in which recent scientific studies are used as a source.
Research Papers: Studies written in scientific format that introduce original research and present its results.
Book Review: Review papers written in scientific format to promote and criticize books published in the field of communication.
Translations: Articles containing abbreviated translations of newly published and important studies in the field of communication in scientific journals. Submission of transcripts with a copy of the original article and a permission letter
Autoethnographic Papers: In autoethnographic texts, one of the forms of qualitative research, the author does not hesitate to reflect himself/herself as in other methods. On the contrary, this method aims to convey direct personal experience. The self-reflective scientist connects the autobiographical story to broader cultural, political and social meanings and understandings. Critical Communication publishes autoethnographic studies.
