Le Rôle des Médias Sociaux dans les Relations Transnationales des Syriens et les Processus d'Adaptation Post-Migratoire

Abstract

Cette étude se concentre sur le rôle des nouveaux médias dans les relations transnationales des Syriens et dans les processus de leur adaptation sociale sur le lieu de migration. L'objectif de la recherche est d'explorer comment l'utilisation des médias sociaux accompagne les expériences pré-migratoires et post-migratoires des Syriens vivant à Gaziantep. Dans le cadre de cette recherche, qui a adopté une méthode qualitative et un dessin phénoménologique, des entretiens semi-structurés ont été menés avec 12 Syriens vivant à Gaziantep sous protection temporaire. L'étude analyse l'impact des nouveaux outils et environnements médiatiques sur la décision des Syriens d'émigrer et l'impact de l'utilisation de ces outils et environnements dans le domaine de la diaspora sur les processus de cohésion sociale post-migratoire. Les pratiques des médias sociaux pour maintenir des liens avec la Syrie dans des espaces transnationaux ont également été incluses dans l'étude. Les résultats de la recherche montrent que les médias sociaux jouent un rôle important pour les Syriens dans les processus de prise de décision et de cohésion sociale après la migration. Le rôle des médias sociaux dans l'adaptation post-migratoire est incarné par leurs fonctions de facilitation de l'apprentissage de la langue, de participation au marché du travail, d'obtention d'informations et de participation à des réseaux de solidarité et de soutien.

Abstract

This study focuses on the role of new media in transnational relations of Syrians and processes of social adaptation to the place they have migrated to. The aim of the study is to explore how the use of social media accompanies the pre- and post-migration experiences of Syrians living in Gaziantep. In the study which adopted a qualitative method and phenomenological design, semi-structured interviews were held with 12 Syrians under temporary protected status living in Gaziantep. In the study, the effect of new media tools and environments on the decision of Syrians to migrate and the effect of using these tools and environments in the diasporic field on the post-migration social adaptation processes were examined. Social media practices to maintain connections with Syria in transnational areas were also included in the study. The study results indicate that social media play an important role for Syrians in decision-making on migration and ensuring social adaptation after migration. The role played by social media in ensuring post-migration adaptation is concretized through its functions of facilitating language learning, participation in the labor market, acquiring information, and being involved in solidarity and assistance networks.

Abstract

Bu çalışma, Suriyelilerin ulusötesi ilişkilerinde ve göç ettikleri yerdeki sosyal uyum süreçlerinde sosyal medyanın rolüne odaklanmaktadır. Araştırmanın amacı, Gaziantep’te yaşayan Suriyelilerin göç öncesi ve göç sonrası deneyimlerine sosyal medya kullanımının nasıl eşlik ettiğini keşfetmektir. Nitel yöntem ve fenomenolojik desenin benimsendiği araştırmada, Gaziantep’te yaşayan geçici koruma statüsündeki 12 Suriyeli ile yarı yapılandırılmış görüşmeler gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışmada, yeni medya araç ve ortamlarının Suriyelilerin göç etme kararlarındaki etkisi ile, bu araç ve ortamların diasporik alandaki kullanımlarının göç sonrası sosyal uyum süreçlerindeki etkisi irdelenmiştir. Ulusötesi alanlarda, Suriye ile olan bağlantıların devam ettirilmesi noktasındaki sosyal medya pratikleri de araştırmaya dahil edilmiştir. Araştırma sonuçları, sosyal medyanın göçe karar verme ve göç sonrası uyumun sağlanması süreçlerinde Suriyeliler için önemli rol oynadığını göstermektedir. Sosyal medyanın göç sonrası uyumun sağlanmasında oynadığı rol; dil öğrenmeyi, işgücü piyasasına katılmayı, bilgi edinme ile dayanışma ve yardımlaşma ağlarına dahil olmayı kolaylaştırma işlevleri üzerinden somutlaşmaktadır.
