Writing Rules

• Pamukkale University Journal of Communication Sciences is an academic, peer-reviewed (double-blind referee process) online journal published twice a year. Authors will be able to submit articles by subscribing to the Dergipark system.
• Authors should prepare their work/study on the article template prepared by our Editorial Board. You can download Pamukkale University Journal of Communication Sciences Article Template from here.
• Studies submitted to the journal are subject to preliminary evaluation in terms of compliance with the spelling rules. Manuscripts that do not comply with the spelling, reference and bibliography rules are sent back to the authors and corrections are requested.
• Works (Manuscripts) to be sent to the journal should include the following main sections: Title, Abstract, Keywords, Title in English, Abstract in English, Keywords in English, Introduction, Literature, Method, Analysis and Findings, Discussion and Conclusion, Bibliography, Appendices.
• It is recommended that the articles to be sent to the journal should be between 6000-8000 words, including footnotes and references.
• Book reviews to be sent to the journal should be between 1000-2000 words, including footnotes and references. You can download Pamukkale University Journal of Communication Sciences Book Review Template from here.
• Interviews to be sent to the journal should be between 1000-2000 words, including footnotes and references. You can download Pamukkale University Journal of Communication Sciences Interview Template from here.
• • Evaluations of audio-visual products to be sent to the journal should be between 1000-2000 words, including footnotes and references. You can download Pamukkale University Journal of Communication Sciences Audio Visual Product Review Template from here.
• Manuscripts should be sent with Turkish and English abstracts of 100-150 words. There should be at least 3 and at most 5 keywords under the abstracts.
• Only the title of the article should be on the articles and abstracts.
• Abstracts should be written in 10 pt, Palatino Linotype font and with 1 line spacing.
• Authors are nowhere in the text, page footnotes, etc. should not write information about their names and institutions, including side texts.
• Manuscripts should be written in Microsoft Word format (doc or docx extension), in Palatino Linotype font, with 11 font size and 1 line spacing. If used, footnotes should be written in 9 font size, justified and single line spacing.
• Page margins should be left and top: 3 cm, right and bottom: 2.5 cm.
• Paragraph spacing should be 8 pt before and 0 pt after.
Footnotes should be numbered and placed at the end of the page.
• Layout of titles:
The main title of the article is in capital letters and bold, 14 pt.
First Degree Title: It should be in capital letters and bold, 12 pt.
Second Degree Heading: The first letters should be capital and bold 12 pt.
Tertiary Title: Initial letters should be capitalized and italic, 12 pt.
All headings should be left aligned
• Paragraphs should be adjacent to each other and indented by 1 tab.
• Direct quotations, italic with double quotes in the text if short; If it is 40 words or more in length, it should be in italics and 1 tab from the right and left. In quotations, the font, size and line spacing used in the main text are valid.
• Single-digit numbers should be indicated with letters, and larger numbers should be indicated with numbers.
• Pronunciation of the word in additions to abbreviations made in lowercase letters; In additions to abbreviations made in capital letters, the pronunciation of the last letter of the abbreviation should be taken as basis.
• Dates should be indicated with numbers and an apostrophe should be used for the appendices. (Ex. 1950s, in 2013).
• Graphics, photographs, tables, etc. images used in the articles should be placed in appropriate places in the text. Such images should be listed in Table 1, Table 2 and Figure 1, Figure 2. Texts within tables/figures should be Palatino Linotype 9 pt.
• In the manuscripts, the explanatory note should be given as footnotes, not as endnotes.

CITING
In-text references and bibliographies of all articles to be sent to Pamukkale University Journal of Communication Sciences should be shown in accordance with APA Style.
