Ulusu Eğitmek: İki Dünya Savaşı Arası Dönemde Eğitici Sinema

Cinema had a role in education since its early period. The aims of this study are to examine the issues treated in educational films during the Interwar period and to look at how those issues are related to the economic, political and social conditions of the time. The conclusion of this study is that even though the issues covered in the educational films are diverse they complement each other and those pieces that constitute the whole have a common aim: Structuring of the nation which is conceived as a societal body, reviving it, and educating it in accordance with the government policies for a cultural transformation. Educational cinema during the Interwar period is part of the national transformation project in many countries independent of the character of their political regimes.

Le cinéma, depuis ses premières périodes, est chargé d’une mission éducatrice. Ce travail se donne comme objectifs l’étude des thèmes abordés dans les films éducatifs entre les deux guerres mondiales, et l’analyse du rapport entre ces thèmes d’une part, et le climat politique, les conditions économiques et sociales de l’époque d’autre part. Cette étude aboutit à la conclusion suivante: même si les thèmes abordés dans les films éducatifs touchent à des domaines assez variés, ils se complètent et oeuvre à un seul et commun objectif; la restructuration de la nation conçue comme un corps social, sa régénération, et son éducation dans le sillage des politiques de gouvernement. Entre les deux guerres mondiales, le cinéma éducateur, indépendamment de la nature des régimes politiques, est un composant important d’une transformation nationale dans plusieurs pays.

Sinema ilk döneminden itibaren eğitici bir rol de üstlenmiştir. Bu çalışma, iki dünya savaşı arası dönemde eğitici filmlerde işlenen konuları, bu konuların dönemin düşünce iklimiyle, siyasal, iktisadi ve toplumsal koşullarıyla olan ilişkisini, filmleri mümkün olduğunca geniş kitlelere ulaştırmak için oluşturulan örgütlenmeleri ve kullanılan yöntemleri incelemektedir. Çalışmada varılan sonuç, farklı alanları kapsasa da eğitici filmlerde işlenen konuların birbirini tamamladığı ve bir bütünü oluşturan bu parçaların ortak amaçları olduğudur. Bu amaçlar, toplumsal bir vücut olarak düşünülen ulusun bugününe ve geleceğine dönük yapılanma, onun niceliksel ve niteliksel olarak yeniden canlanması ve kültürel bir dönüşüm için hükümet politikaları doğrultusunda ulusu eğitmektir. İki dünya savaşı arası dönemde eğitici sinema, siyasal rejiminin niteliğinden bağımsız olarak birçok ülkede ulusal dönüşüm projesinin parçasıdır
